Professional Ecommerce and Business Advisor
Succeed online and in business…
Ecommerce Growth
Ecommerce is not just setting up a website. Ecommerce is high productivity and sustainability via completing a financial transaction to sell online.
A website is just a presence online, like this site. I am not settling a financial transaction on this site. I just show what I do.
Ecommerce is much more complicated, even with Shopify now improved. How do you know this is the right platform for you? Without the right advice you can lose a lot of time and money. I can help you through the steps for you to take the right decision for your business with my coaching sessions.
Business Growth
Having worked in the UK and in Australia, and reported to the US as a Financial Director in the past. I have experience in audit, insolvency, investigations, consulting, financial analysis, start up, and building and scaling my own ecommerce business into 7+ countries at one stage online. I successfully sold Labels4Kids in 2022 so it is now in someone else’s hands, something not easy to get used to.
I know a lot more than many corporate senior managers or business owners on running a business, the ups and downs and how to deal with those, and how to make a successful exit. My main specialty is ecommerce but I also have skills as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (equivalent and recognised in the UK).
Breadth of experience makes a difference. Few advisors have worked outside of government, corporate or education. It makes a difference if you are running any business let alone an ecommerce business to know how many organisations work and how to successfully approach online trade.
Speaking and Non-Executive
I am available for paid non-executive roles, business panels or talks on digital, ecommerce, business growth, my story, and equality for women and girls.
I can also be found on the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs Scotland as Past-Chair, Women Enterprise Scotland as an Ambassador, Femmes Leaders de Monaco, Mint Ventures, Founders4Schools, and Enterprise Nation.
I am co-Chair of the W20 UK, the official gender advisory engagement group to the G20 for the UK Delegation on the economic empowerment of women and girls.

Ann-Maree is one of the key players in the Scottish ecommerce scene
Ann-Maree is one of the key players in the Scottish ecommerce scene. Not content to just conceive, build and grow her own International ecommerce business, she’s always been there to help advise and guide others. She’s done this using her own business network and The Ecommerce Club.
While others might have pontificated or whinged about Scotland’s economic performance, Ann-Maree, like all good business people, just gets her head down and makes good business happen.

Ecommerce Club has grown to become the largest ecommerce network in Scotland
I was involved with the Ecommerce Club when COVID19 struck and the club moved online for the first time for local Scottish businesses, although even then there were UK and international attendees most months! I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the dedication and vision of Ann-Maree and her team working on the club. Their commitment to fostering growth and innovation was truly commendable.
As the club transitioned into a larger online Ecommerce Club it became apparent that it was evolving into something extraordinary. The Ecommerce Club has grown to become the largest ecommerce network in Scotland for individuals and businesses interested in online trade. Its regular events, including the highly regarded national events partnering with INDEZ , such as the Ecommerce Scotland Summit, have provided invaluable insights and resources for those navigating the ecommerce landscape.
This evolution reflects the changing dynamics of commerce in the digital age. Ecommerce is no longer just an option; it is a central component of business operations, and it presents a wealth of opportunities for growth and expansion. This is why the club has a massive responsibility to empower businesses, especially smaller enterprises, to thrive in the online marketplace and by sharing knowledge, resources, and strategic insights, the club creates a stronger ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders.

Delighted to see the club partnering as a founder for the launch of Ecommerce Scotland 2024
Ecommerce is an important and growing area of our economy in Scotland which has been supported by the work of our WES Ambassador, Ann-Maree Morrison MBE, for over 13 years. We are delighted to see the club partnering as a founder for the launch of Ecommerce Scotland Summit, focussing on Ecommerce AI and Automation, at the IMAX in March 2024.
Ecommerce provides a critical route to market for women, especially those based in rural areas. Developing greater ecommerce skills and expertise could further grow our GDP and I would encourage anyone interested in the sector to check out the IMAX event and the online club meetings.

I will never give up to my on-line ecommerce monthly sessions and highly recommend the club
I have been following The ECommerce Club educational sessions with interest for a couple of years and will continue to do so because they have brought growth in my knowledge of both hosting providers and advice I have received on how to promote and implement ecommerce. Each session has knowledgeable and interesting guests ranging from SEO to Cyber Security, from marketing to machine learning. The guests are all professionals who dedicate their free time two hours a month to interest and grow the ECommerce Community.
Shopping online is a lot different from shopping in person, and often online shoppers have questions about the products they’re viewing – whether it’s about sizing, materials, or something else. A good ecommerce customer support team will have a solid knowledge base about the products so that they’re easily able to answer those questions. Returns and post-purchase help. Another big part of ecommerce customer service is supporting online shoppers with returns and troubleshooting dissatisfaction post-purchase. The customer service representative acts as the customer’s point person, guiding them through the process of returning or exchanging items, or figuring out a solution for any issues the customer may have with the product they received.
We have been supported on all these topics and more in Ann-Maree Morrison’s Ecommerce Club so I will never give up to my on-line ecommerce monthly sessions and highly recommend the club to anyone in ecommerce.

One of the best decisions I have ever made for my business
I have been a member of the Scottish Ecommerce Club for 10 years and I can honestly say that it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for my business. The ability to share ideas and learn from other ecommerce practitioners’ experience has been extremely useful. I have learned a lot from my fellow members, and I have also made some great connections that have helped me grow the business. One of the things I value most about the club is the fact that it is not affiliated with any particular technology provider. This means that I can get unbiased advice from other members who have no vested interest in selling me their products or services. This has saved me a lot of time and money, and it has helped me make better decisions for the business.
I also appreciate the fact that the club is a safe space to share our mistakes and successes. It is helpful to know that I am not the only one who has made mistakes, and it is also inspiring to hear about the successes of other members. This has helped me to stay motivated and to keep moving forward with my business.
I would highly recommend the Scottish Ecommerce Club to anyone who is serious about growing their ecommerce business. It is a valuable resource that can help you save time, money, and make better decisions.

The Ecommerce Club in Scotland has been a great help
The Ecommerce Club in Scotland has been a great help over the years. More recently its attention to AI and the thought leadership behind this has been very useful in helping define the landscape for a direct to consumer ecommerce business. Definitely a forum to get involved with.

Skills Development Scotland gets lots out of the forum and hopes to identify further opportunities for innovation and collaboration with The Ecommerce Club in Scotland
The Ecommerce Club for Scotland is an excellent opportunity for ecommerce businesses to learn from each other, to raise prominent issues, and to network with public and private sector partners. As one of the public agency members of the Ecommerce Club Skills Development Scotland gets lots out of the forum as not only do we hear from industry speakers about upcoming trends in the sector, but we also get insights directly from employers about the opportunities and challenges they are facing.
We are delighted to see that the Ecommerce Club will be hosting their first ecommerce conference in March 2024 and alongside hearing from prominent speakers we hope it will be an opportunity to celebrate some of Scotland’s achievements in ecommerce, and to identify further opportunities for innovation and collaboration.
